Meanwhile, I like to do painting, therefore I usually prefer to buy a blank skating board so that I can do the art or paint on my board according to my own choice.

Which Things Are Required In Painting Skateboard Deck
The following things are required when you are going to apply paint to your skateboard deck.
- Sandpaper
- Primers
- Stencils
- Spray paint
- Tape
- Clearcoat
Easiest Steps for Painting The Skateboard Deck
There are many ways to apply paint on the skateboard deck. You can do so by using spray paint. Meanwhile, if your art or painting is great then you can do it with your hands. However, I have explained the steps for painting the skateboard deck with spray paint. Thus, you can decore your skateboard deck according to your choice.
- Detach The Trucks
First, pick up the skateboard and carefully remove the two trucks. Then place them in the same place. So, any part of the skateboard trucks will not be missing while reinstalling the trucks after paint.
- Sanding Process
Obtain good sandpaper. Then, sand the skateboard deck in a circular form and polish it well. After that take a sponge and soak it in warm soapy water. Rub the sponge on the deck and wash it. After washing the dry deck for a few minutes.
- Apply Tape/Stencils
Place the tape on the screw holes on the upper sides. Do this work keenly otherwise paint will drip in the grip and the sides of the skateboard.
- Apply Primer
Apply primer on your deck. I prefer to use an aerosol primer but it depends on you. You can apply any kind of primer which you have.
Note: Before applying the second coat of paint, wait to dry the first coat completely. Approximately, it will take 30 minutes to dry.
- Resand The Deck
When the primer is dry entirely, you resand the deck with 150-grit sandpaper. Rub this in the to and fro motion and remove all the blisters or bubbles. Then, keep the deck dry.
- Make The Design On The Deck
If you want to use different colors of paint for making designs then you arrange them first. For instance, if you want to use five colors then you will apply five layers of paint.
- Apply Base Paint
Usually, white or black colors are used on the base for the prominence of the above color design. Meanwhile, it depends on the color of your stencil design. You can spray any color of paint according to your choice.
- Tape The Design On The Deck
After the stencil design, tape the stencil carefully. You can use any material such as cardboard, hard card stock, etc.
- Apply Various Color Layers
When the previous design completely dries out then apply the second layer on the deck. You can do the same process to coat the other layer of paint on the deck.
- Removal Of Tape/Stencils
After drying, remove the tape/stencils on the deck. Gradually remove them one by one. After untapping, you will get your final design look.
- Finishing Coat
In the end, you apply a clear finishing coat that will give a shiny look to your skateboard deck. Furthermore, it will also save the paint from the UV radiation of the sun.
- Put The Trucks Again
When your board will completely dry, put the trucks on your skateboard. Your superb-painted skateboard will be ready for your skating.
